Enloe's program is designed to stabilize the crisis that led to hospitalization, provide a thorough evaluation, develop a treatment plan and coordinate care in a supportive environment with 24-hour nursing care. Ancillary services of other hospital departments are used when needed for the benefit of the patient's health. Enloe's inpatient program is comprised of a multidisciplinary team working with patients who are experiencing the debilitating effects of depression, anxiety, mood and thought disorders as well as psychosis. Our focal point is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary assessment and skills training, which provides patients access to a better means of coping with problems outside the hospital. Components of this program include, but are not limited to: Skill building; Education, milieu groups; Process groups; Stress management and Therapeutic recreational activities. Discharge planning, which begins at the time of admission, is focused on ensuring that the recovery process continues after discharge by connecting patients and their family members, if appropriate, to resources that specifically meet our patients' needs. Most depression and other emotional illnesses are treatable, especially if dealt with early. In addition to improving one's outlook on life, therapy also helps individuals to better care for themselves and follow their primary care provider's directions, particularly with regards to taking medications. In-Home Withdrawal from Alcohol (In-home detox) Department of Behavioral Health - Access 592 Rio Lindo Avenue, Chico, CA 95926 Phone (530) 891-2810
- Contact: Dr. Glover; Assessment Screening - Jill Wickmann, MSW (530) 895-6535
- Program Description:
- Location: Chico
- Licensed: Yes
- Type: Detox, Alcohol and Drugs Services
- Clients Served: Male and female
- Length of Program: 6 days
- Maximum Capacity:
- Availability:
- Program Features: Since the closure of Oroville Detox 15 years ago, county residents have needed a detoxification program for withdrawing from alcohol or drugs. There is sometimes a serious risk for alcoholics in withdrawal, such as seizures and DT's, which complicate further episodes of withdrawal. This program began with a successful 10 patient study using Depakote and in-home nursing. In hospital-based detox, most individuals were "utilized out" in 48 hours. In-home detox provides supervision via a visiting Home Health Nurse. The program provides medical nursing visits in the home (twice a day for 3 days and then once a day for the next 3 days). In the past year, 22 patients have begun treatment, with an average age of 42-45 years. The primary gap in the program is that services are not available if the client doesn't have a home or responsible caregiver. There is also a need to focus on alcoholism in young women because they potentially have more serious, long-term complications in the future.
- Payment: Medi-cal, CMSP, or Medicare.
